Held by Grace part 3: Testimony in Color

Looking at Held by Grace now feels like looking at a friend who walked through the fire with me. Stood by me through hard times, accepting my flaws, doubts and rejections. This painting holds pain, yes, but also peace. And most of all, hope.

Since finishing this piece, I’ve grown more aware of my weakness and my mental health, my emotions, and the role that faith plays in all of it. I’ve come to believe that healing can start with anything, and it doesn’t always look like a straight line. Sometimes it looks like paint — messy, layered, beautiful.

Painting was my therapy. But more than that, it was my prayer. If you’re going through something, I want to say this: You’re not alone. Your story matters. And there’s always grace waiting for you, even on the hardest days. Healing is a process, as for my journey, I’m far from the finished line. But as they say, the start is always the hardest part and I’m glad I’ve done it. It may take a while or maybe it may take forever. Let’s see.
